Text Box: Late Model Dirt Racing

About Us

DAILEY MOTORSPORTS; Owner and driver Ron “Crunch” Dailey started racing in the late season of 1998.  He was inspired by Kris Dailey and an all time great Ned “Bro” Lucas after watching Ned at a race in Kentucky.  After driving his friends and family nuts Ned found a street stock car for Ron.  This thing was a tank and Ron put Ned’s famous no. 7L on the car.

Ron started off in this car by attending the Donnie Moran Driving School.  He finished out the season at Muskingum County Speedway in Zanesville, Ohio.  Ron was always wanting more speed again, by Kris and Ned to get into a Late Model.

The first Late Model was an old Teeters chassis with a steel block 383 450 HP stroker motor.  After getting settled down he took this car and finished 4th. In the points and received the “Rookie of The Year” award.  And again attended another Donnie Moran Driving School.

After being in the Late Model Division for a year Ron was hooked.  Not only the excitement of being behind the wheel of a race car but, all of the people he had met and became friends with.  With a lot of guidance from Ronnie Moran a track owner and promoter, Toma Johnson an outstanding crew chief of Late Models and now owner and fabricator of Boss Chassis and the Johnson family Ron was ready for more.

The 1st. BOSS Chassis in 2000.  With the help of Toma Johnson, this car could fly.  It still only had the same 383 450 HP Stroker Steel Block Motor.  Ron’s driving was getting even more smoother and with Toma’s set ups this car was extremely fast for having one of the smallest motors in it’s class.  All events were made, we started staying in the front and winning heat races.  We decided to try the bigger events that came into the area.  Not only did we make the shows we ran extremely well.  By the 2001 season it was simple, we need more motor.

This picture says so much but never enough.  Ron’s entire background since the age of 18 was law enforcement.  From a park Ranger to a K9 handler, Patrolman, Detective, Police instructor, bodyguard to owning one of the largest private investigations firms in Columbus, Ohio.

Ron and some of his other police partners went to New York to help out with this disaster.  “This event changed my life”, “I never want to see what other people will have to live through the rest of their lives again”

Ron ended his job and racing after coming back and was hired with the US Department of Homeland Security.

Now DAILEY MOTORSPORTS will officially be starting a new program in 2007.  Keeping a BOSS Chassis powered by an 740HP all Aluminum 415 Russell Baker EngineWe can’t wait to see everyone again.  LET R EAT!
